Tune Ups & Maintenance plans
Locally Owned & Operated - Over 10 Years of Experience
Living in Utah, you rely on your heating and cooling system almost all year long, from keeping warm during damp, chilly winters to cooling your home through triple-digit summers. There’s no question, your HVAC system is put through its paces, and that can definitely take a toll on how it functions and even how long it lasts. Over time, you’ll see your energy costs rise as your system becomes less efficient, breakdowns and repairs will become more frequent, and sooner than you expect, you may need to have the system replaced all together. Fortunately, we can help you keep your system in excellent working order with our HVAC preventative maintenance services.
Why Is HVAC Preventative Maintenance Important?
Elite Comfort Heating And Air is a locally owned and operated company that’s been proudly providing quality HVAC services to Utah and installing the leading air conditioner brands, including Carrier and Goodman. Our highest priority is doing what’s best for our customers, not what’s best for our bottom line. This means we’ll never recommend replacement if an AC repair is the better option for your home and budget and we certainly won’t cut corners on our work. Most importantly, we’ll work with you through the process, making sure you’re informed of your options and provide accurate estimates for our work.
Lowered Utility Bills
When your filters are changed regularly and the system is tuned up, it’s going to be able to run at peak efficiency. Since your HVAC system isn’t working as hard to heat and cool your home, you’ll be able to save money on your energy bills.
Fewer Repairs
Not only does preventative maintenance mean you’ll see fewer repairs overall, but we can often catch red flags before they’re a problem. If your furnace or air conditioner breaks down in the middle of a cold snap or heat wave, you may be blindsided with expensive heating or AC repairs, but by having one of our experienced HVAC technicians come out before winter and summer for a thorough inspection means they can often catch issues before they turn into safety hazards or expensive repairs.
A general rule about when to replace or repair is the 5,000 rule. Take the age of the unit and multiply that by the cost of repairs, and if that number is more than 5,000, you should probably consider replacing the unit. For example, if your 10 year old air conditioner needs a $400 repair, that is 4,000, so it’s probably fine to repair it, but if that 15 year old system needs a $400 repair, it may just be time to invest in a new system.
Longer Lifespan
Just like the vehicle that gets regular oil changes and maintenance lasts longer than one that’s neglected, your regularly maintained, inspected HVAC is going to have a longer life than one that is neglected. Often, when one part breaks, this sets off a chain reaction of having to get repairs on other parts of the unit until it’s finally more cost efficient to replace the unit. Regular maintenance can help you avoid that chain reaction and keep it working better for a longer period of time.
Improve System Safety
From frayed wires and dust build up that can be a fire hazard to cracks in your heat exchanger that can lead to carbon monoxide leaks, your HVAC system can be dangerous if not properly maintained. As part of our inspection, we’ll check every safety factor to make sure you can rest easy.
